Ward clerks should consult with the stake clerks if they have questions. Stake clerks should contact headquarters if they need additional information and assistance. The stake can request assistance by sending an MLS message to headquarters, sending an e-mail to msrmail@ldsmail.net, or calling 1-800-453-3860, extension 2-3500 (or 240-3500 in the Salt Lake area)
Training
- Main article: Training
Record-Keeping and Auditing Training courses for clerks, auditors, and priesthood leaders are available at lds.org under Serving in the Church, Melchizedek Priesthood. Courses can be taken online, or downloaded and burned to a CD or installed on ward or stake administrative computers or personal computers.
Documentation
- Main article: Official Sources
The Church Handbook of Instructions (as possibly amended or extended by subsequent letters from the First Presidency) is the authoritative source of policy and procedures for clerks.
Some useful documents, such as the Record Keeping FAQ, are available with the Record-Keeping and Auditing Training courses on lds.org.
Other documents can be found on the stake and ward web sites hosted on lds.org under Record Keeping Information. Note that you will only be able to access the Record Keeping Information if you are designated in the Leadership Directory section of the web site as some sort of clerk or priesthood leader.
